An under-utilised space in the basement of this popular bistro and wine merchant meant Sorrells could totally reinvent the space for better use, both commercially and aesthetically. By removing old conditioning units, ceilings and floors it allowed the area to be purposed planned for easy stock taking and fluid movement of stock. This new practical, substantial and easy to negotiate wine cellar is now also the focal point to a bespoke private dining room. It can be viewed through the floor to ceiling glass wall and diners experience a unique backdrop of wine cellar activity.

Features:
Bespoke made, floor to ceiling, glass wall. Combination of standard, scallops and case racks for different size bottles plus display areas with bottles set on acrylic supports. Spot light and selected LED lighting throughout. Integrated temperature control system of wall mounted air conditioning and hidden water-cooled condensing unit.

We were invited to design an integral concept where the restaurant’s wine storage became a focal part of the whole dining experience. The installation is a mixture of our traditional Redwood racking system, finished in black, with custom made shelving.

Capacity: 1650 standard and magnum bottles.

Plinths and tailor made shelving finished in high gloss black.

The assignment was to transform two basement rooms containing multiple pipes and sewer works, into a wine cellar, whilst allowing easy access to a concealed electrics cabinet. To also maintain proper temperatures within the wine cellar whilst taking into account the underfloor heating pipes coming from the floor above.

Features: European Redwood, finished in Dark Oak with acrylic displays and LED Lighting. Wine Guardian 40 water cooled cellar unit. Hardwood framed glass entrance doors, finished in Dark Oak to match redwood racking. Block up existing windows with MDF board and finish with white paint.

We were asked to transform an ‘under the stairs’ space into a wine room which would seamlessly blend in with the current interior styling of the house.

Capacity: 418 bottles for standard and magnums.

Features: Split air cooled system; to enable us to control the temperature of the wine room, the enclosed area had to be insulated. Racking was constructed in ash and spray finished in white, with framework contracted from solid oak. LED lighting, with silver mirror fitted to single bottle racking.

Features:  Hardwood finished weathered oak framed glass door and glass panels with glass top. Silver mirror acrylic backing all racking within cabinet. WG40 water cooled cellar unit. (Water supply, drain and hole to house unit by others). LED lighting. To hide existing fridges using European Redwood with glass top.
